L'acqua: poesie in inglese

NOW THAT I'M AN OLD MAN

by Noemi, Maria G. and Linda

Now that I'm an old man

I remember when

I was a child and

into the sea I ran.

Now that I'm an old man

I remember when

I was a teenager and

in the rain I was left by my first girlfriend.

Now that I'm an old man

I remember when

I became a father and

for the first time I saw tears in my child's eyes.

Now that I'm an old man

I understand

what the water means

and like life, it runs in its waves.

BLUE AND STRONG

by Karin, Davide and Fabian

I will tell you something obvious:

Water is blue

Water is wet

And that is obvious too.

In water fish live

And whales and sharks,

In water dolphins live

And sun rays that spark.

Water is made

Of hydrogen and oxygen,

Kept together with the strongest bond.

Water bonds people

When they play on the shore

But water destroys and kills too

And there is nothing water cannot break.

Water does everything

And that is why it is obvious, but great.

LIFE IS WATER

by Sara, Livia and Sara

Born

From a spring

It flows as a small brook,

Braves rocks along its way as it grows

Until it becomes an OCEAN.

YOU AND I, JUST LIKE WATER

by Nadia, Natalia and Sabrin

In the cold November rain

Even if I try

I can't see your tears

Coming down your eyes.

Looking at you

I feel broken inside

As a wave rushing

And crushing on a cliff.

We are falling apart

And everyone can see it,

Both of us will continue our own way

Like water that

After a waterfall

Continues flowing.

O WATER OF THOUSANDS SHADES

By Beatrcice, Fiammetta and Giulia C.

O water of thousands shades.

You are blue like the waves,

Like the sky

In July.

You are green and brown,

Like the trees in a big town.

You are orange and red,

Like the cover of my bed.

You could be different,

Maybe white or transparent.

You are colourful like the rainbow

Which I see from my window.

O, water of thousands shapes.
